CompoCam privacy policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

CompoCam – Compass Camera ("the app") is made by Oleksandr Prokopchuk, publishing as Colabox.NET ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app on Android.

Everything stays on your device

Location

With your permission, the app uses your location while it is open, to show your coordinates on screen and to record the position of each photo in the on-device photo log. CompoCam Pro can also write the position into the photo's details (EXIF). The app does not use location in the background and never sends it to us.

Your position is determined by Android's location services. When the phone uses Wi-Fi or mobile networks to find it, Google may process that information as described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Photos taken with CompoCam Pro may contain your location in their details. If you share such a photo, the location goes with it. You can turn off location for the app at any time in your Android settings.

Sharing and export

Photos and exported photo logs (CSV, KML, GPX) go only where you choose to send them, using Android's share menu.

Purchases

CompoCam Pro is bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment; we never see your card or payment details. The app only checks with Google Play whether Pro was purchased on your account.

No ads, no analytics

The app shows no ads and contains no analytics or tracking. It does not use your advertising ID.

Permissions

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Data we collect

We, the developer, do not collect, store or sell any personal information. The only data processing outside your device is by Google, for location services and Pro purchases, as described above.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
